The German Lost Art Foundation lauds establishment of Foundation Professorships

To­day the Al­fried Krupp von Bohlen und Hal­bach Foun­da­tion an­nounced the es­tab­lish­ment of two Foun­da­tion Pro­fes­sor­ships in Prove­nance Re­search at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bonn. The prepa­ra­tions were un­der­tak­en in agree­ment with the Ger­man Lost Art Foun­da­tion. The first of two pro­fes­sor­ships will be cre­at­ed in the School of Hu­man­i­ties at the In­sti­tute of Art His­to­ry, and the sec­ond at the School of Law and Eco­nomics. Prove­nance re­search and col­lec­tion his­to­ry will be the fo­cus of re­search at the In­sti­tute of Art His­to­ry. The le­gal stud­ies re­search will ad­dress is­sues re­lat­ed to the pro­tec­tion of art and cul­tur­al as­sets.
