Deadline for provenance research funding applications is 1 April 2016

The Ger­man Lost Art Foun­da­tion has made fund­ing avail­able to ex­pand and fur­ther strength­en de­cen­tralised prove­nance re­search. The next sub­mis­sion dead­line for longer-term re­search projects is 1 April 201615. The Foun­da­tion can pro­vide fund­ing to short-term projects on a case-by-case ba­sis through­out the year.

The projects can in­ves­ti­gate the prove­nance of art­works, fur­ni­ture, books or oth­er cul­tur­al as­sets re­gard­less of their val­ue. The Foun­da­tion sup­ports the sys­tem­at­ic as­sess­ment of en­tire col­lec­tions and ba­sic re­search on the his­tor­i­cal con­text of Nazi-loot­ed cul­tur­al as­sets and archive cat­a­logu­ing. In ad­di­tion to pub­lic in­sti­tu­tions, pri­vate in­di­vid­u­als and pri­vate­ly fund­ed or­gan­i­sa­tions in Ger­many may al­so ap­ply for fund­ing, pro­vid­ed their search for Nazi-loot­ed as­sets re­sults in fair and just so­lu­tions in ac­cor­dance with the Wash­ing­ton Prin­ci­ples and Com­mon Dec­la­ra­tion.
