Deadline for provenance research funding applications is 1 October 2015
The German Lost Art Foundation has made funding available to expand and further strengthen decentralised provenance research. The next submission deadline for longer-term research projects is 1 October 2016. The Foundation can provide funding to short-term projects on a case-by-case basis throughout the year.
The projects can investigate the provenance of artworks, furniture, books or other cultural assets regardless of their value. The Foundation supports the systematic assessment of entire collections and basic research on the historical context of Nazi-looted cultural assets and archive cataloguing. In addition to public institutions, private individuals and privately funded organisations in Germany may also apply for funding, provided their search for Nazi-looted assets results in fair and just solutions in accordance with the Washington Principles and Common Declaration.
