Project progress: Leopold-Hoesch-Museum in Düren identifies 179 works as Nazi-confiscated property

The Leopold-Hoesch-Mu­se­um in Düren has suc­cess­ful­ly iden­ti­fied 179 of its works as Nazi-con­fis­cat­ed prop­er­ty as part of a re­search project sci­en­tif­i­cal­ly ex­am­in­ing the ori­gin of ad­di­tions made be­tween 1946 and 1968. The Ger­man Lost Art Foun­da­tion has been pro­vid­ing fund­ing for the project since May 2015 and will sup­port it for three years. The aim is to ful­ly iden­ti­fy pos­si­ble works of un­law­ful ori­gin from the Nazi pe­ri­od in the mu­se­um’s hold­ings.
