Sigrid Hupach, deputy chair and cultural policy spokesperson for left-wing party DIE LINKE and member of the Committee on Cultural and Media Affairs in the German Bundestag, and Dr. Rosemarie Hein, member for DIE LINKE on the German Bundestag’s Education Committee, visited the German Lost Art Foundation in Magdeburg on March 15.

In extensive discussions with the Foundation’s executive board, the two politicians learned more about the Foundation’s tasks and current key work areas. In particular, they focused on the new research field “The confiscation of cultural assets in the Soviet Occupation Zone and the GDR”, funding options for private organizations and private individuals in Germany, and the work of the Advisory Commission.

The two politicians appeared impressed by the results achieved by the Foundation since its establishment in 2015 and conveyed parliamentary interest and support for the Foundation’s future work in politically important subject areas.
