Board of trustees elects Dr. Ute Haug as new chair

On Novem­ber 27, 2018, Dr. Ute Haug was elect­ed as the new chair of the Ger­man Lost Art Foun­da­tion’s board of trustees. She suc­ceeds Is­abel Pfeif­fer-Poens­gen, who re­signed as a mem­ber of the board of trustees and thus as its chair on June 30, 2017 af­ter be­ing ap­point­ed Min­is­ter of Cul­ture and Sci­ence for the state of North Rhine-West­phalia.

The board of trustees thanked Prof. Köhne for his com­mit­ment in lead­ing the board as deputy chair since Ms. Pfeif­fer-Poens­gen stood down. The board is now look­ing for­ward to work­ing with Dr. Haug as the new chair in the fu­ture.

Dr. Haug is one of the most dis­tin­guished prove­nance re­searchers in Ger­many and is rec­og­nized both at home and abroad. She is a founder mem­ber of the prove­nance re­search as­so­ci­a­tion Ar­beit­skreis Prove­nien­z­forschung e.V. and is cur­rent­ly head of prove­nance re­search at the Ham­burg­er Kun­sthalle. Dr. Haug has been a mem­ber of the board of trustees since it was found­ed in 2015.

The in­ter­na­tion­al board of trustees ad­vis­es and sup­ports the Foun­da­tion Board and the Ex­ec­u­tive Board in their du­ties. It cur­rent­ly com­pris­es 11 renowned ex­perts from Ger­many and abroad.
