Lynn Rother, Senior Provenance Specialist at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, describes the transaction in which the State of Prussia bought more than 4,000 artworks from the Dresdner Bank for the Berlin museums for the huge sum of 7.5 million Reichsmarks on August 15, 1935.
