Resti­tu­tion

The con­tact for the resti­tu­tion of works that have been clas­si­fied as Nazi-con­fis­cat­ed prop­er­ty is the Fed­er­al gov­ern­ment. The re­search re­sults of the Gurlitt Prove­nance Re­search Project form the ba­sis for a resti­tu­tion de­ci­sion that is to be made by the re­spec­tive own­er. Clas­si­fi­ca­tion of the works as Nazi-con­fis­cat­ed prop­er­ty is gov­erned by the Ger­man ver­sion of the Wash­ing­ton Prin­ci­ples on the ba­sis of the Joint Dec­la­ra­tion.
