Final Reports

After the research reports on the original works suspected of being Nazi-looted art have successfully undergone an expert review, they are inspected and approved by the project body’s managing board. The final report summarizes the important key information and research results relating to the artwork and supplements the Object Record Excerpt (ORE). The examined artwork is then assigned to one of the categories of the agreement. The family portfolio* and works that have been shown to be so-called “degenerate art” with an origin that is clearly not suspicious are not subject to a review and are thus not given a closure note.

*The family portfolio contains works that are assigned to the Gurlitt family because they did not originate until after 1945, were created by family members or can be assigned directly due to personal dedications.
